Summer Reading = Free Books for Every Franklin Middle Schooler!

Shared by Principal Virginia Everett

At Franklin Middle School, making sure every child has books to read is a big deal. This summer, teachers and students teamed up to create fun, diverse reading bags jam-packed with great books. The best part? They’re totally free!

As the school year ended, these goodie bags full of reading adventures were handed out to all students. But don’t worry if your child missed out—plenty more are available at the Franklin Middle School main office. Swing by anytime between 8 AM and 3 PM and pick up a bag (or two) for your young reader. No stress, no sign-up, just stories!

Why make reading a big summer priority? Check out these cool facts:

  • Just six minutes of reading can lower your stress by 68%!

  • Reading helps boost empathy and emotional smarts.

  • Kids who are read to at home do better at school.

  • Turns out a book before bed can really help your sleep.

  • Reading grows your vocabulary and makes your writing better, too.

  • It even helps your brain focus and pay attention.
